What we do

— A Personal Word From Anam Hayat

I have seen so many horrible and heartbreaking things. When I see the innocent faces of children born impoverished, I wish I could wave a wand and solve all their problems. I wish I could put an end to child labor, and give those small hands a pen and paper instead of a clump of clay for making a brick. I want to offer orphans a place to live safely and give children who are unwanted and abandoned a hope and a future. I don’t want to see children forced into marriage or slavery. A child is meant to learn and play, not to earn money for their families. Their childhood should be for LEARNING not for EARNING.
When I think about these things, I remember how Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God” (Luke 18:16). Since our ministry began I have been thinking about how to help as many children as we can, leaning on God’s grace and provision. “Hope House” is a vision I have had since childhood. It could change the face of Pakistan and other nations. The children we help one day will become great Disciples of Christ sent throughout the world. I want to have a place where children can safely learn and play, eat regular meals and be able to play outside instead of working jobs no child should be forced to do. I want a place for the homeless, widows, orphans, abandoned and unwanted to live and be taken care of. Hope House can provide a safe, loving place they can call home. James tells us, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” (James 1:27)
The key to changing our nation is to raise children who are educated both academically and biblically. Hope House’s doors will be open; for Christ said, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.” (Mark 9:37)

—THIS IS OUR BIGGEST PROJECT AND DREAM VISION

It’s time to change families and nations by taking Christ from home to home, door to door, and by educating children about Christ. The hope of the gospel will break all their chains and will give them and their families a new hope found in Christ. We cannot do this alone! God’s grace and provision for ministering to those in need over the last 15 years has been amazing. We hope, pray and believe that we will find partners who will help us with our task. We welcome anyone who wishes to partner with us, however small or great! We believe our Hope House ministry will be starting in the very near future. We are currently praying over a plot of land, believing it is the right location.

—WHAT WILL HOPE HOUSE BE USED FOR?

  1. Providing children with the skills to earn and provide for themselves and their families as they grow up. Helping them focus on God and work hard so they will no longer need to become beggars. Leading them to trust in their Heavenly Father and to keep their eyes focused upon the Lord.
  2. Providing free literacy education so they can learn how to read and write and get good jobs.
  3. Helping them to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and to study and understand scripture thoroughly, growing in wisdom and the love of God.
  4. Providing food so they aren’t abused and exploited to do hard labor for a meal.
  5. Providing a room to call their own in a building where they can rest and sleep safely, surrounded with love, peace and joy that no one can steal from them.
  6. Lovingly providing adequate clothing, medical care, and a message of love and hope in a place where they come to know that Christ Jesus loves them and will never abandum as orphans.
  7. Diligently providing age-appropriate discipleship and training.
  8. Eagerly teaching and training widows, young uneducated women and girls to empower them and help them explore their potential and God-given talents.
  9. Establishing a safe home for young girls who have been forced into child marriages or any type of slavery.
  10. Establishing a home for all unwanted and neglected babies.
